The project was designed for two families intending to share one house in such way that ensures the privacy of each family. The plan divides the house into two separate wings united by a central transparent link, a lightfilled covered patio that unifies the surrounding garden areas together thus becoming the heart of the house.
The ‘two wings’ plan maintains a modest scale with reference to the garden, though both spaces were designed in parallel in order to create one continuous indoor outdoor experience.
The use of white stucco accentuates the play of light and shadow on the solid and void elements of the structure with its formal simplicity towards the surroundings.
This, in addition to the materials used stucco, stone and metal/steel is intended to help the house stand the test of time.
